What's New in 2012–2013?

Paper-Based Test Dates

Six paper-based administrations will be held per year in the months of September, November, January, March, May, and July. For more information on test dates, registration deadlines, and score report dates, refer to "Test Dates for Paper-Based Testing."

Paper-based administrations will be offered in a morning test session, in 23 California areas. See "Test Areas for Paper-Based Testing" for more information.

New Computer-Based Test Centers

Additional computer-based test centers are being added in California and throughout the United States. For up-to-date information on available test centers, including real-time seat availability, refer to the Pearson VUE website at www.pearsonvue.com/cbest/.

Electronic Score Reports

Beginning August 2012, examinee scores will be released electronically at 10:00 p.m. Pacific time on the score report dates listed in "Test Dates." Score reports will be available for 45 days as PDF documents, which you may view, print, and save for your records. For more information about examinee score reports, see "Release of Your Test Scores."

Electronic score reports are provided as PDF documents and are available in two ways:

1. Scores from website. All candidates can access their score reports online beginning at 10:00 p.m. on the score report date by selecting "Score Reporting" on the CBEST website. Online access to score reports will be available for 45 days following the score report date. There is no limit to the number of times candidates may access their score reports during this period.
2. Scores by email. Candidates who register online can sign up to receive their score report by email. Score report emails will be sent beginning at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time on the score report date. (This service will be available to candidates who registered after June 18, 2012, for test dates on or after August 13, 2012.)
