TEST CENTER RULES

When you register for the CBEST, you agree to comply with all the rules set forth in the current registration bulletin, including the Rules of Test Participation (see "Compliance with Testing Rules"), and the rules communicated to you at each test administration for which you are registered.

Violation of test center rules, including the possession or use of prohibited materials during a test administration, may result in the voiding of your scores.

The following are prohibited at the test center:

No smoking allowed Smoking and the use of all tobacco products
No visitors allowed Visitors, including relatives, children, and friends
No weapons of any kind allowed Weapons of any kind

Prohibited Materials

DO NOT bring any unauthorized aids or prohibited materials, listed below, with you to the test center. If you do bring any of these materials, you will be required to leave them in a designated area. For computer-based testing, any personal items that you bring to the test center must be stored in a locker outside of the testing room during the test. This includes watches, wallets, and purses in addition to the prohibited materials listed below.

No cell phones allowed Cell phones (possession or use of)
No electronic communication devices allowed/ Electronic communication devices, visual or audio recording or listening devices, or any device with an on/off option, including, but not limited to, MP3 players, PDAs, pagers, computers, CDs, removable storage devices, calculator watches, clocks or watches with alarms, spellcheckers, etc.
No calculators allowed Calculators and calculator manuals
No handwritten or printed materials allowed Handwritten or printed materials, such as dictionaries, notebooks, scratch paper, textbooks, etc.
No packages or bags allowed Packages and bags of any kind, such as backpacks, briefcases, etc.
No hats or headwear allowed Hats or headwear, except those being worn for religious or medical purposes
No food and drink allowed Food and drink including chewing gum, except for paper-based testing only, water in approved containers as described in "Reporting for Paper-Based Testing"
No slide rules, rulers, etc. allowed Unauthorized aids, such as slide rules, rulers, translation aids, highlighters, etc.
No unauthorized medical devices allowed. Unauthorized medical devices, such as inhalers, Epinephrine injections, etc., unless prior approval has been obtained (refer to "Registering for Alternative Testing Arrangements" for more information)
